Martial arts and personal development for young people

Welcome to our unique programme designed to support children and young people on their journey of self-discovery and personal development. Our coach Björn, an experienced martial arts teacher, doctor of medical psychology and potential development coach according to Gerald Hüther, uses his extensive knowledge to create a holistic development environment.

A philosophy that addresses individual needs

We firmly believe that all behaviour and emotions can be traced back to unmet needs. By integrating the Ying-Yang philosophy into our work, we help children and young people to find their personal middle way and achieve a harmonious balance in their lives.

Developed for children and young people aged 9 and up

The coaching is specially tailored for children and teenagers aged 9 and up. We provide the support needed to fully develop their individual abilities and talents during this crucial phase of their lives.

Scientific foundation meets traditional wisdom

With a doctorate in medical psychology and training as a potential development coach according to Gerald Hüther, Björn combines the latest scientific findings with the timeless teachings of Asian martial arts.

DOPDA – More than martial arts

DOPDA (https://dopda.de), a programme developed by Björn that focuses on promoting essential life skills, supports young people in their social-emotional development, impulse control and in building interpersonal relationships.

Björn's experience and vision

Björn has been guiding people of all ages on their personal journey since 2007. With over 800 children and young people in school programmes and over 400 young people in his martial arts school, he has a profound influence on the development of young people. His vision: ‘We support and empower young people in their uniqueness so that a diverse and appreciative society can emerge.’

Coaching process

01

Recognising unfulfilled needs

At the beginning of the coaching, the focus is on developing a deep understanding of the individual needs of the child or young person. We use our expertise to identify the underlying needs that may not be sufficiently met through discussions, observations and special exercises. This step is crucial to creating a tailor-made coaching programme.

02

Analysis of thought patterns and behaviours

Once the core needs have been identified, the focus is on the associated thought patterns and behaviours. We work with the child or young person to understand how these unmet needs lead to certain thoughts and actions. This helps to create awareness of existing patterns and lay the foundation for positive change.

03

Developing and practising new solution strategies

In the third step, new strategies and behaviours that are better aligned with individual needs are developed. We use a combination of cognitive techniques and practical exercises to encourage these new approaches. The inclusion of movement is particularly important here, as it supports not only physical but also mental and emotional development. This integrative approach helps children and young people to find new ways to deal with their challenges and achieve their personal goals.
